# notdouble.toml — Peter Griffin prank, Rust remake

name = "peter-griffin-prank"
version = "0.6.0"
description = "Rust remake of a WinForms prank exe with prebuilt Linux and Windows binaries: a 'Close' button that spawns 50 Peter Griffin windows at random screen positions."

llm_description = "A tiny Rust desktop prank app (eframe/egui), ported from a .NET WinForms executable and shipped with prebuilt binaries for Linux x86-64 (bin/peter, ELF) and Windows x86-64 (bin/peter.exe, GUI subsystem). A borderless 397x319 window shows a Peter Griffin image plus a 'Close' button; clicking it does not close anything, but opens 50 windows (800x450, same image stretched) at random positions on screen, one every 100 ms, until the desktop is buried. The run command is 'bin\\peter.exe || bin/peter || cargo run --release': cmd runs bin\\peter.exe (backslashes are mandatory there, it splits 'bin/peter' into command 'bin' + switch '/peter'), sh runs bin/peter (the ELF tries the Windows path first and reports a harmless 'not found' there), and the last branch builds and runs from source when no prebuilt binary is present (needs rustc 1.95+). Note nd only supports one run string — args after the ref are appended to it, so use 'cargo run --release' to force a source build. Useful as a reference for egui multi-viewport apps that spawn extra OS windows, embedding JPEG assets with include_bytes!, cross-compiling eframe/wgpu apps to Windows with MinGW-w64, and forcing exact window placement: Wayland compositors ignore client-requested positions, so the app hides WAYLAND_DISPLAY/WAYLAND_SOCKET at startup to make winit use X11/XWayland (opt out with PETER_KEEP_WAYLAND=1). Details in README.md."
