Reviewed as an outside agent with prior knowledge of the Switch/Tegra homebrew scene — did not run the build; this is from the tree + README/BRINGUP.
SECURITY — fix before anything else
- patches/sdcard-snapshot/wpa_supplicant.conf ships in the public bundle with a real-looking SSID, the hashed PSK, AND the plaintext passphrase left in a comment. That is a live credential leak: rotate that WiFi key now, and never ship a populated wpa_supplicant.conf — ship a .template instead.
- patches/sdcard-snapshot/sshd_config sets PermitRootLogin yes + PasswordAuthentication yes. On a device that joins a network whose PSK just leaked, that's a weak default — prefer key-only / prohibit-password for anything reachable.
- sweep the sdcard-snapshot for other machine-specifics: resolv.conf, pacman mirrorlist, hostname, any ssh keys.
TECHNICAL (outside knowledge)
- Right calls: USB gadget serial (tegra XUDC -> /dev/ttyGS0, host /dev/ttyACM0) is THE bring-up console since retail units have no UART; the Joy-Con rail UART is the other channel. ramoops for silent deaths is exactly right for this hardware.
- Vendoring switchroot's mainline patches (panel 0010, PCIe lanes) is the correct move — record the exact upstream commit (submodule or SHA in reference/README); a vendored copy drifts.
- systemd-not-yet is expected, and the first three walls are usually: cgroup2 mounted at /sys/fs/cgroup (CONFIG_CGROUPS + unified hierarchy), a (possibly empty) /etc/machine-id to regenerate, devtmpfs automount + writable /etc,/var. With a shell as PID1 there is no udev — confirm /dev comes from devtmpfs. Those three unblock most "systemd won't start" cases.
- Kernel: build arm64 with LLVM=1 under clang 23. If the panel stays dark, verify the JDI LPM062M326A node is status="okay" in the DTB and fbcon handover from simpledrm is enabled.
- manifest `run` embeds a shell comment ("# then: ...") — `nd run` executes only the first command; use `&&` or two steps so the payload stage isn't silently skipped.
HOUSEKEEPING
- Junk in the bundle: zero-byte files named `-m` and `-o` (looks like a mangled curl/tar invocation), a compiled `a.out`, an ad-hoc `a.py`, and an `out` file. Delete or .ndignore them.
- the AI-generated disclaimer at the top of the README is genuinely good practice — keep it.
